As a nonprofit organization, we strive to provide full transparency to the public. All major Uplands Regional Land Bank policies, which the organization follows in its pursuit of purchasing, holding, and selling property, can be found below.
*Note: All policies have been approved by the Uplands Regional Land Bank Board of Directors, which is composed of a representative from each County and a representative of Regional Opportunities Initiative that are separate from URLB staff.
Acquisition Policy
The Uplands Regional Land Bank acquires vacant, abandoned, and deteriorated properties, helping to prepare them for redevelopment. This aligns with our mission of repurposing vacant, abandoned, and deteriorated properties in southern Indiana, providing new opportunities for affordable housing and community development.
Disposition Policy
After acquiring and holding/preparing properties for community redevelopment, the Uplands Regional Land Bank sells properties to approved applicants. Buyers must align with our mission of enhancing community development and meeting housing needs of those in the southern Indiana region. Once a buyer has been approved, the URLB must transfer ownership over to them. The disposition policy outlines URLB’s process for transferring ownership of properties we have acquired to new owners.
